Decaf Co Exclusive - Small Batch Series:
Guatemala - Los Conejos Microlot
Decaf so good it will compete with some of the highest scoring "normal" coffees out there. Our latest addition to the Small Batch Series — is a return of this exquisite decaf coffee sourced exclusively from Finca Los Conejos in Santa Rosa de Lima, Guatemala. This exceptional blend is a collaboration with our longtime partner, Swiss Water Process, and forms part of their sought-after Small Batch Series.
Tasting Notes:
Upfront intense sweetness, we're getting a distinct Sticky Date Pudding kinda vibe. Moving into a delicate red grape and blackberry soft acidity. Flavors you'd never expect to hear from a decaf but this is a truly exquisite coffee. If you're brewing this one as a filter, it's fooling skilled coffee professionals when we tell them it's decaf. It can stand on it's own in any cafe, let alone as a decaf. As an Espresso it has a zesty brightness like a ripe nectarine. Just glorious.

A Storybook Farm with a Legacy
Los Conejos, meaning 'the rabbits,' holds a fairytale charm. The Ordoñez-Montenegro family acquired this biodiverse farm in 2014, bringing along their children's pet rabbits and creating a name that adds a touch of whimsy to every cup.
Craftsmanship in Every Bean
Initially, the farm began with a small cluster of new coffee trees. The overwhelming success of their natural processing methods paved the way for agricultural innovation. A natural processing method means the coffee cherries are picked super ripe, the cherries are sun-dried, and then the fruit is removed leaving the coffee bean we love, no water is used in this process. This process adds sweetness to the beans because the fruit is fermenting as it dries transferring that sweetness to the beans.
Los Conejos now harvests a variety of unique beans, including Mundo Novo and Gesha, each measured for optimal ripeness and sweetness with Brix refractometers. The farm’s produce has even caught the attention of both regional and nationwide competitions in Guatemala.
Sustainability Meets Excellence
Nestled amidst old-growth pine forests, the farm embraces polyculture—growing crops like orange, lemon, and banana, while tending to a range of animals, from goats and chickens to, of course, rabbits. This ethical, multi-layered approach not only benefits the local community but also enhances the quality of your coffee.
Why Choose Los Conejos Gem Decaf?

You'll taste the richness of the volcanic soil, the sweetness verified by scientific methods, and the love poured into every cup. Once I got the quantity of beans right for my plunger, I've enjoyed every cup of this decaf. If I made it too weak it had too much acidity. Making a stronger brew allowed the sticky date pudding flavour to be more forward. No acidity and silky mouth feel. For me it's pretty near perfect.
Try this while you can. Or don't, so I can order more.
Love this Guatemala bean. Lots of berry flavours, love it espresso or in a latte. Very gourmet when made into an iced coffee for the summer months! Definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed this coffee. Got a 1kg bag and glad I did. Will definitely buy again when it’s available.
