Tasting Notes:
This delightful coffee boasts a delicate body, with a distinct creamy sweet lemon note followed by a layering of dried raisins and toasted walnut. This is a very well balanced decaf with the word 'layered' being very true to this decaf as it brings so much to the table!
Roasters Notes:
We haven't had an Ethiopian decaf in the house for 2 years, it's a very rare origin to see come across our table and when we had the opportunity we went berzerk trying to get our hands on this one. Oh and did I mention, it tastes ridiculously good! Ethiopia - the birthplace of coffee.
The Swiss Water® Process used for decaffeination of this coffee employs water, gently removing caffeine while maintaining the coffee's inherent flavour and quality. This method results in a premium decaf that coffee lovers can truly savour, knowing it's crafted with care and quality in mind."

I first ordered this as an espresso roast back in January. Maybe it was one of the first roasts of this batch that still hadn't been perfected, but I felt it was a bit overroasted and there was a strong bitterness/burnt flavour. I would have given it a 2-3 out of 5. Luckily I gave it another go, and this time ordered a filter roast which I have been using for expresso. I spent some time dialing it in, and have found an 18g in, 34g out ristretto gives a gorgeous shot with amazing full-bodied flavour. Honestly as good or better than the caffeinated shots I'm making
I’m an aeropress user and with most coffees I can go with one aero press scoop of beans, brew for 2 minutes and get a great cup of coffee. With this coffee, one scoop made a pretty weak coffee. So I’ve since been tinkering with adding more coffee. The sweet spot seems to be around 21g of coffee brewed for 90 seconds to get a stronger flavour without tasting bitter. Added a dash of cold water as well, which seems to help improve the flavour profile. Will be interested in trying another offering after I finish this order.
One of my favourite coffee!!
